WBJEEB conducts OMR based Common Entrance Examination (WBJEE-2023) for admission into Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture of different Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal for the academic session 2023-24.

As per official announcement, the WBJEE result 2023 shall be declared on 26th May, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. The WBJEE 2023 result will be published at a press conference on 26.05.2023.

West Bengal JEE Result 2023 Cut Off

Marking Scheme for WBJEE 2023 Result
For West Bengal JEE Category 1, each correct answer will get one mark and for every incorrect answer, 1/4 marks will be deducted. For Category 2, two marks will be given for each correct answer and 1/2 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. For Category 3, there will be no negative marking.

WBJEE Result 2023 Merit List
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will release the WBJEE Merit list 2023 along with the WBJEE Result 2023 on its official website. The WBJEE merit list 2023 will be formulated on the basis of candidates’ marks obtained in each subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) and the total marks in Paper I and Paper II. For all reserved categories a separate merit list will be released.
Tie-Breaking Formula WBJEE Result 2023
In case two or more candidates score equal scores in the West Bengal JEE Result 2023 WBJEEB will resolve it by a Tie-Breaking procedure to allot ranks. The Tie-Breaking Procedure is given below.
- First Priority will be given to the candidate with less number of attempted incorrect answers and more correct answers in all the subjects.
- If the tie is not still broken Candidate with the most correct answers in PCM will be given priority.
- Next priority will be given to the candidate with more correct answers in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together.
- Candidates who have attempted less number of incorrect answers in Mathematics and Physics are taken together.
- Those candidates who attempted less number of incorrect answers in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together will be given priority if the tie still exists.
- If the authorities are still not able to resolve the tie, then the candidates with more positive marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions will be given a higher rank.
As per the education minister, around 98,000 students appeared for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination this year. The WBJEE 2023 exam was held on April 30, 2023. The results will be declared this week on May 26, 2023.
