BRIC-NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF IMMUNOLOGY (NII) VACANCY NOTICE: The National Institute of Immunology (NII), under BRIC and the Department of Biotechnology, has announced vacancies for Administrative Officer and Finance & Accounts Officer positions through deputation or direct recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria

Administrative Officer Eligibility Criteria

For Deputation:

  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • Experience in administration, accounts, house-keeping, and establishment matters.
  • Officers from Central/State Government, Semi-Government Organizations, Universities, Research Institutions, Autonomous Bodies, or PSUs holding:
    • An analogous post; or
    • A lower post in Level-10 with five years’ service; or
    • A post in Level-7 with at least seven years’ service; or
    • A post in Level-8 and Level-10 with a total of six years’ service.

For Direct Recruitment:

  • Graduate (preferably with a PG Diploma in Personnel Management).
  • Recognized course/training in Secretariat work or UPSC examination of Section Officers.
  • Experience:
    • Level-10 (5 years) or Level-7 (7 years); or
    • Level-8 (4 years) and Level-10 (4 years) totaling 8 years in administration, accounts, or establishment work.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Govt. Rules & Regulations, Computer Applications.

Finance & Accounts Officer Eligibility Criteria

For Deputation:

  • SAS/CA/ICWA qualification.
  • Experience in cash/accounts/budget management.
  • Officers from Central/State Government, Semi-Government Organizations, Universities, Research Institutions, Autonomous Bodies, or PSUs holding:
    • An analogous post; or
    • A lower post in Level-10 with five years’ service in Accounts.

For Direct Recruitment:

  • Graduate with SAS/CA/ICWA.
  • Experience:
    • Level-10 (5 years) or Level-7 (7 years) as Pay & Accounts Officer, Accounts Officer, or Head of Finance.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Govt. Rules & Regulations, Computer Applications.

Job Responsibilities

Administrative Officer Job Responsibilities

  • Handling administration, establishment, and personnel matters.
  • Drafting rules, regulations, and office orders.
  • Managing academic matters like Ph.D. admissions, placement, and committee meetings.
  • Maintaining confidential records.

Finance & Accounts Officer Job Responsibilities

  • Supervising accounts work, preparation of balance sheets, and contractor bill checks.
  • Managing annual budgets, financial committee decisions, and PFMS.
  • Disbursing project funds through the Central Nodal Agency (CNA).

Terms and Conditions for Deputation

The deputation for the Administrative Officer and Finance & Accounts Officer posts at NII will be governed by standard government deputation rules. The total tenure, including any previous deputation, must not exceed five years.

Candidates must submit self-attested copies of age proof, educational and professional qualifications, experience certificates, disability/community certificates (if applicable), and a complete ACR dossier/APARs of the last five years, along with a Vigilance Clearance and Integrity Certificate, duly attested by an officer of Under Secretary rank or above. All educational and professional qualifications must be from recognized institutions.

Departmental candidates in the feeder cadre who are in the direct line of promotion are not eligible. Once an application is submitted, candidates cannot withdraw their candidature. Any incomplete applications or those lacking required documents, such as APARs or NOC, will be rejected outright. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification. Compensation and Benefits

Selected candidates will receive a salary as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, along with various allowances and benefits as per Government of India rules. These include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and Children’s Education Allowance. Employees will also be eligible for Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Medical Facilities, and other applicable advances.

Selection Process

The selection process for the Administrative Officer and Finance & Accounts Officer positions at NII will be based on an interview of shortlisted candidates. Only those who meet the eligibility criteria and submit complete applications will be considered for shortlisting.

In cases where multiple candidates secure the same aggregate marks in the interview, the tie-breaking criteria will be applied in the following order:

  • (i) Older candidates will be placed higher in the merit list based on date of birth, and
