The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 examinations are scheduled to be held From February 03, 2024 and will continue till February 11, 2024. GATE 2024 exam dates are 03, 04 and 10, 11 February 2024 (Official).
Candidates who qualify in GATE can seek admission with possible financial assistance to Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, and Humanities; and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Engineering, Science, and Humanities, in institutions supported by Ministry of Education (MoE) and other Government agencies. GATE score is also used by some colleges and institutions for admission to postgraduate programs without MoE scholarship. Several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have also been using GATE score for recruitment.
Qualifying in GATE does not guarantee admission, scholarship, or a job. Admission to any institute is fully dependent on the admitting institute’s criteria for educational qualification. GATE qualification does not assure a public sector undertaking (PSU) job. No responsibility is assumed for admission, scholarship, or a job.
GATE 2024 is administered by the The Indian Institute of Science (gate.iisc.ac.in), Bangalore, this year. The official website is www.GATE2024.IISc.ac.in.
GATE 2024 will be held in two slots viz. Forenoon Session (FN) and Afternoon Session (AN). First slot starts in the morning 9:30 AM to 12:30 Noon and the next session will be between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM.
Each GATE 2024 paper is for total 100 marks, General Aptitude (GA) is common for all papers (15 marks) and rest of the paper covers the respective syllabus (85 marks).
GATE 2024 will be conducted only in centres within India. It will not be conducted in centres outside India. Foreign nationals and Indian citizens residing abroad may appear for GATE 2024 but they must choose examination cities within India. They must make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation to appear for the exam at an assigned centre within India.

IISc Bangalore has released the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-2024 Examination Date and Time for all branches vide announcement dated July 2023.
As per official notification, the GATE 2024 exam is going to start from 03-Feb-2024 and the last date of the gate exam 2023 is 11-Feb-2024.

GATE 2024 Combination of Exam Papers
If you want to appear in GATE 2024, you are allowed to appear either in ONE or up to TWO papers of the GATE 2024 examinations.
Combination of TWO Papers: A candidate is allowed to select the Second Paper from the pre-defined Two Paper Combination list. The following table gives the codes of test papers allowed as the second paper for the candidate’s choice of the first paper. The combinations are subject to availability of infrastructure and scheduling constraints.

Candidates opting to appear in TWO subject papers must have a primary choice of paper as their default choice.
The second choice of paper has to be chosen from the allowed combinations given in the Table above. Combinations other than the listed above are not allowed.
Note that under unforeseen circumstances certain combinations may be removed from the list in the above Table at a later date. In such cases, the fee paid towards the second paper will be refunded to the candidates.
Also note that the GATE 2024 examination centre of a candidate for the second paper may be different (but in the same city) from that for the first paper due to the infrastructure and scheduling constraints.
