CA Intermediate Toppers Jan 2021: The all India topper of ICAI CA Intermediate January 2021 exam and CA IPCC first rank holder name announced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) immediately after declaration of ICAI results Jan 2021 through press release at official website icai.org.
As per official announcement dated 24-March-2021, the results of CA IPCC/Intermediate shall be declared today evening i.e. on 26th March, 2021. For the first time CA Institute has conducted the intermediate level exams in two phases.
First First Cycle exams were held in the month of Nov/Dec 2020 and Cycle-II in the month of Jan/Feb 2021. CA Institute published CA Inter Cycle-I (Nov 2020) result on 8th February, 2021 and Cycle-II (Jan 2021) results shall be declared on Friday, March 26, 2021.
Since December 1949 i.e. the year of establishment under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Examination is held twice in a year in the months of May and November.

CA Inter Merit List Jan 2021
ICAI decides to publish merit list for Jan 2021 and those students who have appeared in second cycle of Nov 2020 exams for both groups may qualify for merit list. On the other hand, if you have opted out from Nov 2020 and appeared for all groups in January 2021 then your name may be included in merit list of CA Intermediate Jan 2021 result.
After the first phase of CA IPCC/Inter exams held in Nov/Dec 2020, those students who have opted out from Nov term, appears in Cycle-II CA Inter/IPCC exams conducted the month of January 2021.
CA Inter Rank Certificate/Merit List
CA Inter merit list Jan 2021: You have to secure minimum 440 marks out of 800 in aggregate of both Groups of CA Intermediate January 2021 in single attempt. For CA IPCC candidates, the minimum marks is 385 out of 700 in aggregate of both Groups in single attempt. Single attempt does not mean first attempt, your name shall be listed in the merit even in the second or third sitting.
However, ICAI has prescribed the rules for securing name in the merit list for January 2021. Accordingly, a candidate who fulfills all the following three criteria is issued a rank certificate, indicating the rank secured by him/her:
- Passed both Groups of exams in one sitting;
- Exemption not claimed in any paper; and
- Secured at least 55 per cent marks in aggregate.
CA Intermediate/IPCC Rank certificates shall be issued upto 50th rank, on All-India basis. All India Rank (AIR) certificates shall be dispatched by CA Institute to the concerned ICAI Regional Offices for further distribution to the candidates.
Pass with distinction in CA Intermediate
Passed with Distinction: A candidate who passes at one sitting, the Intermediate examination, with 70% of the total marks for all the papers for that examination shall be considered to have passed the examination with distinction and the statement of marks issued to him contains a specific mention that the candidate has passed the examination with distinction.
Results declares on 26th March, 2021 for the Chartered Accountants Intermediate and Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination held in January 2021.

Question-1: I have appeared in Group-I in Nov 2020 and got 258 marks. Now, appeared for Group-II in January 2021. Am I eligible for rank certificate?
Answer-1: You have not satisfied 1st criteria (one sitting) as you have opted out from Nov for the second Group. Thus, you are not eligible for rank certificate.
Question-2: Sir, I have opted out from Nov 2020 and appeared for both Groups in CA Inter May 2021. Am I eligible for merit list in May 2021 result?
Answer-2: Yes! You shall be eligible to include your name in the merit list of May 2021. However, you must satisfy eligibility criteria including scoring minimum 55% marks in aggregate of both Groups. That means, all the three conditions mentioned above must be satisfied.
Question-3: Am I eligible for rank certificate in Jan 2021? If I got just 200 marks in Group-II and more than 260 marks in Group-I.
Answer-3: For securing a rank your aggregate marks in both Groups should be at least 55% i.e. 440/800 Marks. Thus, you are eligible for rank in CA January 2021 as your aggregate marks of both Groups is 460/800. Note that CA Institute publishes merit list on all India basis upto 50th rank only.
