ICAI Articleship and Industrial Training Platform 2022: In CA (Chartered Accountancy) profession, there is a compulsory 3 years articled training for those students who have either Passed Group-I or both Groups of the CA Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course i.e. CA IPC (erstwhile IPCC/PCC/PE-II) or have been admitted under the Direct Entry Scheme for Intermediate (IPC) Course, and are eligible for undergoing articled training for selection as articled assistants in the CA Firms.

Thus, this practical training, an integral part of chartered accountancy curriculum, is required to acquire on-the-job work experience of a professional nature in which a student gets exposure to professional activities.

ICAI Articled Training Guidelines for CA Students

Pursuant to the amendment in CA Regulations, 1988, a candidate who has passed either or both the Groups of Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination can commence their Practical Training.

In other words, now students of Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course can commence their Practical Training even after passing Group 2 or Group 1 or both the groups of Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination.

All CA Intermediate candidates who are eligible for undergoing articled training generally visits their nearest ICAI branch for getting information about recent vacancies available in CA Firms for selection as articled assistants. On the other hand, the Chartered Accountants in practice have to post such required number of articleship vacancies details along with contact details in CA Institute Notice Board.

The Board of Studies (BOS) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has now introduced online Articles Placement Portal (BOSAPP.ICAI.ORG) for both the firms of CA (Chartered Accountants) and students to register themselves for the Articles Placement Scheme. The services to the Online Placement Portal for articled training are available free of charge for both CA Firms and Students.

Under this scheme, the students have to fill up an online form requiring their educational details including the details on Articled Training preferences, preferred ICAI Center etc. After successful registration, a unique candidate code is generated by the system and this unique code will be used as the reference number for any communication with CA Institute.

Now, recruiting entities shortlist candidates for the Interview and the shortlisted students would automatically receive an e-mail through the Portal for the details like interview date, time and address of CA Firms offices to appear for interview.
